Text:
Text in magazines are vital to attracting the readers and also helps you identify the paticular target audience. You can tell if the magazine is aiming at young people as they would use quite bold and modern fonts, whereas if they was attracting older audiences they would use more demure, plain fonts. The text also helps identify the theme of the magazine, as most magazines use the same font on the front cover of each of their issues. Secondary magazine use the same font for their title and their stories on each issue, this helps the readers identify the magazine and also it is suitable for the target audience. Secondary magazine is aimed at teachers and the text is quite plain and not very eye catching, which is quite stereotypical of teachers. However Elle magazine have their title in big bold letters at the top of the page. Also there are subheadings on the front cover what are put in bold text and also in bright colours. This is suitable for their target audience as the magzine is aimed at females starting from around the age of twenty to about fortyfive. The font of the text also draws the reader in as on magazine front covers they put the most interesting stories in big, bold fonts to attract peoples attention and to expand their target audience. Text is a vital part of a magazine as it gets people to buy the magazines.
