Contents page is a veryimportant part of a magazine. The page is there to direct the readers to were they would like to go in the mag. They also have pictures to attract their audience and to help the readers. The stories have the key words in bold colours to attract the reader and to make them want to read the other stories. The stories that are on the front cover and what are the most eye catching are usually at the top of the contents page, and have pictures to go with them. There are usually images on the contents page to keep the reader interested and to attract you to the stories inside the magazine. In some magazines they have images of new fashions and new beauty products, whereas in educational magazines they have images of schools and pupils. This relates back to the target audience. Each magazine has its own specific target audience. Cosmo and Marie Claire are specifically designed for women around the ages of 20-45. College magazines are usually aimed at the students at the college and other young people, some college magazines can be aimed at teachers aswell as students. Some magazines also have a good colour scheme on their contents page, this is designed for their audience. Cosmo have a bright, vibrant colour scheme and lots of images of fashion and sometimes small images of male celebrities, this attracts their female audience. Magazines aimed for school teachers or pupils are quite demure and don't have quite a bright colour scheme, also the images on the contents page are usually images of pupils or schools or teachers. On some contents pages there is also an editors letter, this is there so the editor can connect with the readers and so the readers can find out why the editor chose the certain issue. It is also there so the editor can recieve feedback from the readers.
