Stories:
These college magazines are aimed at A-level students and you can see that from the stories they have on the front cover. On the Chemistry review each story is related to the students lives who are studying Chemistry. On the Chemistry review the stories on the front cover are 'How chemistry works Boyle's law', 'The future for Polymers' and 'Natural products in medicinal drugs'. The stories are all specifically chosen to appeal to the target audience and will have been chosen very carefully to make sure it is suitable for the magazine. On the front cover of The English review the stories are 'Love through the ages in Poetry', Understanding genre: satire, The Handmaids Tale, Great Expectations, The white Devil, Shakespeare, Phillip Larkin and more. These all relate to students who are stuying A level English so therefore thay are appropriate stories, you could not have a story on it advertising the new fashion trends as it wouldn't be suitabl for what the magazine is aiming to advertise. Stories are one of the most important things on the front cover of a magazine as they are one of the aspects that make the reader but the magazine. Magazine editors put the stories which are the most interesting and eye catching on the front cover as it draws the readers in. They also put the stories which are most related to the paticular issue of the magazine on the front cover. Each magzine chooses stories specifically which are relevant to the issue of the magazine and what are suitable for the target audience.
