Music magazines: Main images

The images on the cover of the magazine are related to the type of magazine and they appeal to the target audience. The images consist of a band and a singer, this shows that it has a wide range of audience and that the magazine appeals to both men and women. The audience of Q magazine is from late teens onwards as it features popular young artists and it also has older artists on the cover e.g Madonna. The main image usually takes up most of the front cover as that draws people to the magazine. Also the image sometimes covers up the name of themagazine, this reflects how recognisable the magazine is as readers can recognise what magazine it is and what it is about. The main images have to be suitable for the target audience.
